And almost every restaurant knows that it is going to have some empty seats on the weekdays.  Why not barter to fill them.  Not only will you benefit from the bartering, but more cars in the parking lot makes you look more popular.
  • It doesn't matter how cold the winter is, someone still needs carpentry. 
  • If you are hosting an event and know that you are not going to sell out, put some of the tickets up for barter.  They make great perks for other businesses to give to their employees.
  • If you are a hotel, put those empty rooms up for barter, they are not doing anyone any good sitting vacant.

 

Get full price for your slow moving or excess inventory!  Do you have excess inventory that isn't moving.  Rather than slash prices and take a loss, put them in the barter store at retail value.

 

Turn that extra time into luxury!  Maybe business is going great for you but you would still like to take some vacations without paying for them or make some special purchases for the home without having to pay out of your pocket.  Set aside a little time each week to barter with.  The dentist or chiropractor who does only one visit per week on barter could have potentially $5,000-9,000  in barter benefits to make purchases with at the end of the year. Remember, that is just from doing one barter visit per week, it really adds up.

Settle up Deliquent Accounts! Almost every company is faced with clients who are unable to pay their bill or invoice. Try to find out quickly if there are any products or services that they can offer you in lieu of payment.  This is called "if you can't get blood out of the turnip, take the turnip!" It is important that you try to negotiate with them as soon as possible because there may be other creditors out there who are affected by their non-payment also.  If there is nothing that you can negotiate with, it may be possible to get them to join us and then pay you in trade dollars.

 

Regain Lost Accounts!  It takes considerable time, effort and money to get and keep new accounts. So, when you lose them, it would be best to find a means to get them back.  Go over your records and see who may have stopped doing business with you because they couldn't afford to keep doing business with you on a cash basis.  Try to rejuvenate them by making them a new offer where they can still benefit from your services or goods by utilizing the trade exchange.  Getting back those old customers could end up paying big dividends.

 

You find yourself unable to pay your creditors... If you find yourself in difficult times, it is best for you to contact those you owe and try to work with them to settle accounts.  Many creditors are very understanding and cooperative if you explain your situation to them.  If you have the ability to pay in trade dollars, your first step is to explain to them how this could be advantageous to them.  When they see that they can utilize barter dollars now as opposed to waiting until much later to get payment, they will usually opt for compensation now.

 

Reward your employees or your loyal customers!  Be sure to visit the barter store and turn that slow time, extra space, or excess inventory into:

  • tickets or lodging for empoyee perks
  • Christmas gifts for your family
  • Gifts for your loyal customers or clients
  • Or something special for yourself

 

Reduce employee expenses!  Whether you need some part time help or  temporary employees, don't go through an employment agency or commit yourself fully by hiring and individual.  Try one of the many members that we have on barter first.  If you really like their work, you may want to consider a more permanent relationship by hiring them.  You can find babysitters, waitresses, secretaries, etc., all right here who are willing to trade their services on barter.
